Gibson Gives Lou Pallo Scholarship - Rockit Live Foundation
September 2, 2022 (Lincroft, NJ) - The Rockit Live Foundation is honored to announce a special tribute concert celebrating the life and music of Lou Pallo, an incredibly accomplished guitarist who accompanied Les Paul for decades, as well as recorded and performed with countless world-renowned musicians.
A benefit concert will be held at The Cutting Room NYC on Sunday, October 2, at 3pm and will feature live musical performances from the Rockit Academy, Eddie Brigati, Ricky Byrd, Wé Ani McDonald, and very special guests. Tickets are on sale at The Cutting Room website.
In collaboration with Gibson—the iconic American instrument brand—a student will be awarded a Les Paul Custom guitar and a scholarship through Gibson’s philanthropic arm, Gibson Gives to further their musical education at the Rockit Academy.
“While there’s a struggle to keep music education alive, the Rockit Academy strives to actively engage young musicians in sharing and learning about the most influential work in music history” says Bruce Gallipani, Founder and Executive Director, Rockit Live Foundation. “Mr. Lou Pallo is a humble man who shared his passion, mentoring the students of Rockit Academy. We are forever grateful and honored to have known and worked with Lou.”
“Gibson Gives is committed to introduce, inspire, and amplify the power of music through guitars across all generations, genres, and genders through music education and wellness programs” adds Dendy Jarrett, Executive Director, Gibson Gives. “We are pleased to honor Lou Pallo, the ‘man of a million chords,’ and a Gibson artist through this scholarship. To recognize an artist like Lou not only helps keep the memory alive of who helped shape our sound at Gibson but highlights Lou’s incredibly giving heart.”
